Was the Ku Klux Klan a good group?

Klu Klux Klan (KKK)

The Ku Klux Klan, or KKK, was a white superior group that despised African Americans and Catholics. In the 1920s, the KKK was known for their violence, racism, and resistant to civil rights. These people were often hard-working, middle-classed white people, such as ministers, mayors, shopkeepers, and factory workers who believed in White Protestant Americanism and in using fear and intimidation and persuasion to recruit new members and scare off any possible threats.

They believed in Christianity and often used a burning cross as an emblem of Christ Jesus as the Light of the world, and purification by fire.

Catholics were considered the worst of Americans because nobody knew how they could continue their “allegiance” to the Pope of Rome and be loyal to the institutions of America at the same time. Even though they wore white hooded masks, the Ku Klux Klan tried to pass a bill to prevent nuns from wearing their “religious garbs”. Why?

Their favorite song is “Onward Christian Soldiers” which is a very good song, and a very well-known hymn in churches.

Was the Ku Klux Klan a good Christian/Protestant group or are they representing Christianity and Christ in the wrong way?

Many Christians believe that Jesus is the Light of the world and that if you don’t get saved that you will go to the fiery pit, but you are not purified by fire.

Christians also believe in acting the exact same way that Jesus did or would act in a situation.

Therefore, it is believed highly that Christ would not murder or subdue or even lynch people because they didn’t believe in him. He says in his Word that we have a choice- follow him or not, but he does not force us to or burning crosses in someone’s yard. He died on the cross for ALL people’s sins because he loves everyone, no matter who they are. If they were truly showing what Christianity looks like, the Klan would not have done the things they did and stating that they were Christians and “White Power over all”
